Cristiano Ronaldo's Impact : Blog 2

For this project, I chose Cristiano Ronaldo because soccer has always been one of my biggest passions. I have followed the sport for many years, and as a Real Madrid fan, Ronaldo has always been one of my favorite players. Throughout his career, I watched him score incredible goals, break records, win championships, and become one of the greatest athletes in history. Because I already knew a lot about his accomplishments on the field, I thought this project would be easy. However, I quickly realized that there was much more to Cristiano Ronaldo than just soccer. This project allowed me to learn about his influence on society, his charitable work, and the positive impact he has had on millions of people around the world.

When I first selected Ronaldo as my topic, I focused mainly on his achievements as a player. Most people know him because of his goals, trophies, Ballon d'Or awards, and success with clubs such as Manchester United, Real Madrid, Juventus, and Al Nassr. He is also one of the most recognized athletes in the world and the most followed person on Instagram. Because of his fame, I always viewed him as a sports icon. However, while researching for this presentation, I discovered many things about his life that I had never paid much attention to before. I learned more about his childhood, the challenges he faced growing up, and the ways he has used his success to help others.

One of the most inspiring parts of Ronaldo's story is his background. He was born in Madeira, Portugal, and grew up in a humble family. His family did not have a lot of money, and becoming a professional soccer player was not easy. At a young age, he moved away from home to pursue his dream and faced many sacrifices along the way. Learning more about these experiences reminded me that success is not determined by where someone starts in life. Instead, it is often determined by dedication, discipline, and the willingness to keep working toward a goal even when obstacles appear. This connected directly to one of the outcomes of our project, which focused on understanding how people from different backgrounds can use their success to impact communities around the world.

Another thing that stood out to me during my research was Ronaldo's work outside of sports. Before this project, I mainly associated him with soccer. I knew he was famous and successful, but I did not fully understand the extent of his charitable contributions. I learned that he has donated money to hospitals, medical programs, children's organizations, and disaster relief efforts. He has also supported organizations that help children and families in need. This surprised me because many people only talk about his achievements on the field. Researching his humanitarian efforts helped me understand that public figures can influence society in ways that go far beyond their professions.

This topic also helped me better understand the connection between fame and responsibility. Cristiano Ronaldo has one of the largest audiences in the world through social media and traditional media. Millions of people follow everything he does. Because of that influence, his actions can inspire others to make positive choices. Whether he is encouraging healthy habits, supporting charitable causes, or sharing messages about perseverance and self-improvement, he demonstrates how a public figure can use a platform to create positive change. This directly relates to another project outcome about how public figures influence culture, education, equality, and social progress.

While researching Ronaldo, I also reflected on why so many people admire him. Some people admire his talent, while others admire his work ethic. Personally, I think one of the reasons he is so respected is because of his mentality. Throughout his career, he constantly looked for ways to improve himself. Even after winning major trophies and awards, he continued working hard and setting new goals. This attitude is something that can be applied to many areas of life, including education and professional careers. His example shows that success is not something that happens overnight. It requires consistency, effort, and the willingness to keep improving.

Creating this presentation also helped me develop important communication skills. I had to organize information, select the most relevant facts, and present them in a clear and engaging way. Since our class focuses on communication, I learned that presenting information is not just about listing facts. It is about telling a story that helps the audience understand why a topic matters. In my case, I wanted my classmates to see Cristiano Ronaldo not only as a famous soccer player but also as someone who has made a positive impact on society.

Another aspect of the project that I enjoyed was listening to the presentations of my classmates. Each student selected a different public figure from fields such as sports, technology, politics, and philanthropy. This allowed me to see how people in different professions can influence society in unique ways. Although the individuals were different, many of them shared similar qualities, such as leadership, determination, and a desire to make a difference. This reinforced the idea that success can be used as a tool to inspire and help others.

Overall, this project was meaningful to me because it combined two things that I enjoy: soccer and learning about influential people. Since I am a big fan of Cristiano Ronaldo, researching him made the assignment more interesting and enjoyable. At the same time, it challenged me to look beyond the goals, trophies, and records that most fans focus on. I gained a deeper appreciation for the impact he has had off the field and the ways he has contributed to society. Most importantly, I learned that true influence is not measured only by achievements but also by the positive effect a person has on others. Through his success, leadership, and charitable work, Cristiano Ronaldo has inspired millions of people around the world, and that is why he was the perfect subject for this project.
